Banana Bread

Hello Friends!  Hope you are all having a fabulous Summer Break!  Its been great and all, but I am SOOO ready for school to start:)  I have had too much quality time with my kids:)  

One of my the things that my kids ask me to make ALL the time is Banana Bread.  It is their very favorite!  I have grown up with this recipe my whole life and am loving my Mom for making it all the time!  I never get sick of it!  Whats great about this recipe is that it really only takes about 5 minutes to whip up and who doesn't have REALLY RIPE bananas lying around...I mean really?  We always have them!  I have switched people over to this recipe more times than I can count...give it a try...you will be happy you did!! 

Banana Bread

1/2 c. unsalted butter or margarine
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 mashed bananas
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt

combine the butter and sugar until smooth.  Add the eggs and mix until incorporated.  Add the bananas.  Then mix together the flour, soda and salt.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes.  Start checking after about 1 hour.  If it starts to get too brown on top put some foil on top!  Enjoy!

  2. Yum, I love banana bread and ALWAYS have ripe ones laying around. I have recipe that includes sour cream and I don't always have it on hand, so this is great because I always have all of that list of ingredients! Have you ever tried throwing in some mini chocolate chips? YUMMMY!
